Red's Corner is the hangout spot for the dog walk club Dog Walk Club: Forest Creek Greenway 9/15

Dog Walk Club will meet for a walk on the Forest Creek Greenway in Southern Pines on Sunday, 9/15.  We’ll meet at 3 pm at Reservoir Park in front of the boat docks at 300 Reservoir Park Dr, Southern Pines, NC 28387.  Our hangout spot for this walk is Red’s Corner.

Forest Creek Trail is a heavily shaded out-and-back easy walk.  We’ll start at Reservoir Park and walk to the Forest Creek Access, cross Airport Road, and then hit Forest Creek Trail.  We’ll do about 30 minutes then turn around and come back.  Forest Creek is typically not very busy.  It’s mostly sand, some areas are deep and soft making it difficult for bikes and strollers.  There are also gravel and concrete sections.  I typically wear good walking shoes for this trail, you don’t need boots.  Once we’re out of Reservoir Park there are no facilities, so be prepared and bring plenty of water for you and your pups.

Here’s a little about Red’s Corner:

From the website: Red’s Corner is a beer garden and food truck park with a two-acre outdoor green space neatly organized to provide utilities and amenities enabling up to 6 food trucks to remain on a permanent, semi-permanent, or daily basis. The taproom, an inviting Carolina cottage situated at the entrance of the property, features a classic “southern porch” where people can sit in the shade under fans and sip cold beer, wine, and other popular drinks as they relax awaiting their food.  Southern-style porches and arbors with fans and heaters for comfortable seating. Fire pit and water feature (in the future). Farmers market where local vendors will be able to set up a cart out on the lawn and sell their produce or crafts each day. Lawn sculptures/jungle gym for children to enjoy. Dog friendly so our best friends can join us.

Red’s Corner is located at 901 SW Broad Street, Southern Pines, NC 28387.

If you want to just meet us at the hangout spot, there are no judgments 😄

About Dog Walk Club:

Dog Walk Club meets in Sanford on the 1st Sunday and in Southern Pines on the 3rd Sunday of the month. We vary the walks and hang-out spots- and yes we take suggestions! Littles are welcome as long as they can keep up (we’re not fast, trust me).

Jael and Dr. Meghan provide Fear Free training tips to help your dog walk nicely on a loose leash. We do not accept any dog on a slip lead or a choke, prong, or shock collar into our club. If your dog needs training, it will be with positive reinforcement, so don’t feed your dog before the walk, and bring lots of tasty treats. Jael conducts a private 2-session Leash Walk Boot Camp Training Course for anyone whose dogs need of more assistance.

Everyone is welcome to join us in this free community event. So grab a dog, your family, and a human friend, and hang out with us!
