Dog Walk Club: Raven Rock Loop Trail 9/10

Dog Walk Club will meet for a walk at Raven Rock Loop Trail on Sunday, 9/10.  We are skipping Labor Day weekend because the crowds will be crazy no matter where we go!  We’ll meet at 3pm at the visitor center in Raven Rock State Park at 3009 Raven Rock Road, Lillington, NC 27546.  Raven Rock Loop is a 2.4 mile circular trail that is considered easy but there are lots of roots.  We can climb the stairs to the overlook of the namesake rock too. Our hangout spot for this walk is Hugger Mugger Brewery.

Here’s a little about Hugger Mugger:

Hugger Mugger means secretive or hidden and is one of hundreds of words coined by Shakespeare.  This concept is a perfect match for a city with noted masonic influence.  Hugger Mugger Brewing celebrates the secretive whether it be through our skull & bones imagery or the symbol-laden tapestries adorning the walls of the beer hall.

The least secretive aspect of Hugger Mugger Brewing is owners David McComas & Tim Emmert.  David & Tim’s passion for craft beer is expressed through a broad repertoire of craft beer styles for an audience of diverse palates.  The brewery building is designed to accommodate large crowds and includes a beer hall with a front bar of 20 taps and an outdoor beer garden where food trucks set up nightly.

If you want to just meet us at the hangout spot, there are no judgments 😄

About Dog Walk Club:

Dog Walk Club meets in Sanford on the 1st Sunday and in Southern Pines on the 3rd Sunday of the month. We vary the walks and hang-out spots- and yes we definitely take suggestions!

Jael and Dr. Meghan provide Fear Free training tips to help your dog walk nicely on a loose leash. We do not accept any dog on a slip lead or a choke, prong, or shock collar into our club. If your dog needs training, it will be with positive reinforcement, so don’t feed your dog before the walk, and bring lots of tasty treats. Jael conducts a private 2-session Leash Walk Boot Camp Training Course for anyone whose dogsneed of more assistance.
