Dog Walk Club: White Pines Nature Preserve 11/5

Dog Walk Club will meet for a walk at White Pines Nature Preserve on Sunday, 11/5.  We’ll meet at 3 pm at the first parking lot on the left.  White Pines Nature Preserve is found at 548 S Rocky River Rd Sanford, 27330.  We’ll start by hanging a right on Shiner’s Way, pick up Rocky Bluffs to School Kids Trail, and follow that to River Trail.  Then we’ll head back on Deep Bluffs Trail and Gilbert Yager. Our hangout spot for this walk is Havoc Brewing Company at 39 West Street, Pittsboro 27312.

White Pines Nature Preserve is rustic.  The trails are sometimes difficult to find, filled with roots and rocks, and this time of year, partially (or completely) obscured by leaves.  There are some ups and downs on these trails.  There are no facilities of any kind.  It’s a NATURE hike!  Annika and I love it because of the water views, and it’s never crowded.

Havoc doesn’t sell food but they almost always have a great food truck and there are plenty of fantastic restaurants in the immediate area.

About Dog Walk Club:

Dog Walk Club meets in Sanford on the 1st Sunday and in Southern Pines on the 3rd Sunday of the month. We vary the walks and hang-out spots- and yes we definitely take suggestions!

Jael and Dr. Meghan provide Fear Free training tips to help your dog walk nicely on a loose leash. We do not accept any dog on a slip lead or a choke, prong, or shock collar into our club. If your dog needs training, it will be with positive reinforcement, so don’t feed your dog before the walk, and bring lots of tasty treats. Jael conducts a private 2-session Leash Walk Boot Camp Training Course for anyone whose dogs need of more assistance.
