The 2 Hounds Design Freedom No-Pull Dog Harness is the best training tool I’ve ever used to stop my huskies from pulling on a leash. In the past, I had tried:
- Gentle Leader head harness
- Halti head harness
- Easy Walk harness
The secret is better communication with your dog. Using both the front and the back clips allows your dog to feel minor changes in your speed and/or direction and to adjust accordingly. It does not hurt your dog like shock, choke, or prong collars. It simply communicates more clearly and effectively without pain or punishment.
When you’re just starting out with the Freedom No-Pull Harness, make sure you have plenty of treats to reward your dog’s good behavior. When I was walking my dogs with just a leash and collar, I never got to reward them because they never stopped pulling. They thought this is how we walk. I could get their attention for 2 seconds- long enough to give them a treat- but they all started pulling again immediately. With this harness, I can reward them for walking nicely on the leash, not just for responding to their name to get a treat. Therefore, they learned that walking nicely on the leash was the desired behavior. Now, we rarely use the harness because they are trained to walk nicely. I still intermittently reward them for their good behavior, not on every walk, but enough so they always perform well just in case today is the day they get treats. Intermittent rewards strongly reinforce behavior once the correct behavior is learnt!
I guarantee that if you combine the 2 Hounds Design Freedom No-Pull Harness with positive reinforcement, your dog will walk nicely with you, without pulling, or I’ll refund your money.
