Douxo S3 PYO Mousse contains chlorhexidine to treat infection and ophytrium to restore the skin’s natural barriers to infection, relieving itching and dryness.

$21.00

Description

Douxo S3 Pyo Mousse is used with Pyo Shampoo to treat bacterial skin infections in dogs.  Douxo S3 Pyo Mousse contains chlorhexidine to treat the bacterial infection.  It also contains ophytrium to restore the skin’s natural barrier to infection.  It leaves the skin soft and smooth and helps reduce itching, redness, and dryness.   Douxo is a great brand that I have used and prescribed since I had a brick and mortar vet clinic and pet supply store.  These products are tested and work very well.

From the manufacturer

*Chlorhexidine can cause rare but serious allergic reactions in humans. If an allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use and seek immediate medical treatment.

My vet prescribed this for a combination of skin irritations. It works great! My dog was munching himself raw. He seems immediately soothed when I use this. If the spot looks painful, I just put the foam on top before rubbing it in. He lets me rub it in after only 15-30 seconds! It also really accelerates the healing time. I keep this on hand to use between baths. Good luck!

    Caution

I love the shampoo but when I got the mousse it had leaked literally everywhere in transit and was almost empty. Amazon replaced it but like an idiot I left it lying on its side after we used it and it leaked all over the bed and was empty. So, it may be better to buy this one somewhere else and keep it upright at all times because even when it seemed like the top was tight, it leaks. I can’t say much about the effectiveness as we only got a couple of uses out it because of this issue.

    New formula less effective

I vaguely understand the reasons for changing the ingredients but the old formula was like magic for our immunocompromised dog that frequently gets skin infections. Sad that this formula hasn’t worked for us yet but maybe we’ll try again in the future.

    This works

This was prescribed by my vet for my dog. My dog had some bacterial infection on paws and elbow. The mousse got rid of them in days. I’ve tried many other home remedies which will mitigate for a time but not completely heal them. Douxo S3 PYO Mousse works. Only one negative if that is, 10 – 15 minute after I put medication the dog will need to go potty. So if I put medication close to bed time I would need to take them outside for potty.

Delivered leaking,,, seal was intact but still leaking

Just arrived with packaging being wet. Product it self was sealed, but leaked, and 1/4 of the liquid is gone. Looks like a lot of people are getting same issue. For the money and what is left in it – not worth it. Brand need to step it up and and an additional protection from product being leaky,,,,

I love that this is available without having to go to the vet. My 9 year old chiweenie loves to roll in dirt and grass and pick up all kinds of bugs. This is the only thing that heals the patches, stops the itch and promotes healthy regrowth. Best part, no heavy repeat vet bills.

Within a day, redness starts to resolve and my dog actually likes when we put it on. I think he knows relief is coming.

    So good

I use this on baby wipes after they go outside to potty. It smells nice, and no one has had any adverse reactions. I use the soap version of this to wash paws after we have gone for walks. Prior to this I was using other chlorhexadine soaps and it was dying my son’s paw shades of red/pink. This has no dyes. Thank you! Will be reordering!

Works well for hot spots on my dog

I have used this product twice on my dog when he has had very raw hot spot under his arm where his harness rubs. This product was recommended by my veterinarian. It works very well in a few days, has no smell and the dogs doesn’t mind it a bit. The mousse is easy to apply too.

Works but obviously better if my dog had shorter hair

This product works really well but I think it would work better had I trim my dogs hair shorter first. I have a golden doodle who is about 60 pounds and I used a scalp brush to apply this to her coat more evenly. I found it it works. It does make your dogs hair look kind “moussed” wavy after application, but my dog skin has really improved since using it.

    This seems to work well.

I say “seems” because my dog seems to feel relief fairly fast. He even knows this when I apply it and actually stands still when I do. If you knew my dog you would understand.

    Good to restore skin barrier

My 1 yr old Boykin Spaniel is losing hair, getting skin infections and rashes all over his body, even though it first showed up in his paws. He has been very itchy and prone to rashes in the summer since he was a bitty baby. He doesn’t seem to have a food allergy as his stool is fine, and the only thing that seems to create a new bald spot is high humidity when it is 70+ degrees. He eats a high quality food with omega 3 and probiotics, so I doubt he’s got a nutritional deficiency.I had washed him with the B3PO when he was a baby, and he gets both Bravecto and Interceptor Plus oral medications. But even if the hydrogen peroxide shampoo cleared up his rash when he was a baby, he was still always so itchy and people would comment that he must have bugs or fleas.I’ve decided that what’s wrong with my dog is that he must have a weak skin barrier because it seems like he’s prone to infection by staph. The best antifungal/antibiotic is chlorhexidine, even better than neomycin or bactine or other common medicines available to put on your pet. I didn’t see any products out there that target “skin barrier”; I had been using Skout’s Honor Dog of the Woods daily detangler which has probiotics and that’s usually the type of treatment that uses the words skin barrier, however I couldn’t be sure that the product wasn’t causing the issue because it seems he has a bacteria overgrowth, and adding bacteria doesn’t necessarily cure the problem. The Duoxo PYO had a lot of research behind it so I felt safe trying it.Well I just got it today and I’m amazed. His infection seemed to be spiraling out of control and I was quietly panicking that it was only a matter of time before a new patch of skin turned bright red and he’d be itching it till it oozed and bled and some hair fell off. I didn’t expect to see him stop scratching himself or trying to lick or bite a part of his body right away! It’s as if he’s forgotten all about his itchy skin. Especially when I put anything on him, he begins to hyperfocus on itching or licking himself. But with this he suddenly seems to be at ease in his skin.I’m not sure if I can afford a $20 bottle to use 3x per week on a 42lb dog. It seems that it takes a lot more than 10 pumps to treat his whole body, and they list the bottle as having 200 pumps. I’ll have to see how his wounds heal up or if he gets new ones to really determine the value of the product. Hopefully his condition will stabilize and I can reserve using this product around times where he might potentially get stress on his immune system or when he’s had to be in hot/humid conditions for an extended time which seems to result in a hot spot. The nice part about it working to repair the skin barrier is that you can potentially use less of it once your dog’s health has been restored, not to mention to save yourself the time you spend watching him to make sure you don’t have to powder/wash/annoint/brush/dry/restrain him from the damage he will do to himself if left to his own devices.

Bottles arrived leaking. Lost some product

Would’ve given 5 stars, but packaging was apparently sub par. I ordered mousse and the shampoo, and both arrived leaking even though they were supposed to be fully sealed.Smell was pleasant, the bottle of mousse came open and leaking a bit, the bags were sticky, but the product does perform as advertised. Value for size is reasonable. I’m yet to notice a difference on my dog’s skin infection— but i will update when i do

Product did not work for me as it has for friends

This was a recommendation from my van, as well as several friends, because my dog had standing around her eyes. I used it religiously for several months, and there is no difference to my dog. I gave up on it. I gave it to a friend of mine that has a bichon, and it cleared up her dogs eyes tremendously.

Finally something for in-between bath days!

This foam was recommended by my vet to help with my dog’s itchy and flaky skin, on days between medicated baths. It smells amazing and dries quickly. My dog usually licks everything off, but she leaves this alone. She doesn’t act like it stings or bothers her in any way, and usually falls asleep during application. It does take more pumps than the instructions indicate, but it’s lasted a long time. With this, her baths, and some antifungal, we’ve finally knocked out the yeasty smell, too! Get this if you’re like me – always fighting angry dog skin!

Excellent product but mousse leaks from bottle

This product is great but I must say this packaging is pretty bad. It must be stored upright. If you shake it, it can leak. It leaked the first day I took it out to use and ruined other things in the bag. I’ve gone through three mousses during the time I have been using the spray. I like the mousse better for my dog, but I just threw over $20 out the window and it’s just a waste and inconvenience in this packaging. The shampoo is great too and doesn’t LEAK!

Difficult to work into fur. Questionable effectiveness. Round pad applicator version better

Got this for an older cat with stressgrelated dermatitis on her ears and back. I’ve used this product before – except it was the round application pad version – in the past for the same cat for chin acne. My cat has dense short fur (British Shorthair mix breed), and the foam is hard to work in enough to get to the skin. I have to use a brush to get it off surface of fur an to the skin, and it dries hard on the fur I I miss any. So I’m not sure how much is actually making contact with the cat’s skin. While the round pad apllicator version I had before worked the first day, this version has required multiple uses to make any difference. I don’t know if it’s the slightly different skin issue (same cat, both issues caused by stress, but this issue was less serious) or the different application mode (foam v round pad) that’s making the difference. This brand was recommended by my vet along with several other products as a good option, so I feel it has a good reputation. I’d purchase the round pad version of this product next time, not the foam

This works great for a hotspot on my dog’s neck that she scratches at and also is great to use on paws, because the mouse allows you to get it in-between the pads without wasting a lot and ending up with everything wet!

    Good Product but Leaks

The mousse works well but the bottle leaks like crazy during shipping. My product arrived sticky and wet with about 1/2 remaining. The “seal” was still intact. This product is expensive enough for what little you get so I immediately ordered a replacement. The second shipment was still leaky but most of it remained so I kept it. I will not be ordering this online again.

    Great Price!

My girl is a mini Yorky she has allergies. I took her to her vet and they prescribed this exact foam medication for her. Which works. They also prescribe the shampoo. Of course I found it on Amazon what I was charge was $40 more than Amazon so guess where I’m getting it next time I need it. I learned my lesson. It’s sad how people that love their babies so much get taken advantage of at a time when you just want to get them well and happy & comfortable again, big industry.

Used for a beginning of a hotspot

My pup had the beginning of a hotspot. I asked a friend who’s dog gets them often what she uses to get them to go down. She told me her veterinarian recommended this for hot spots and she got it off amazon. IT was cheaper than the price at the vets office. So I ordered it and it came next day. I put it on his hotspot and it was gone within a few days. I love this product, no scent, little sticky, but worked well for him. I would normally ask my vet for a recommendation but theyre so hard to get into or talk to right now so I took my friends advice. Definitely talk with your veterinarians before use, as it may not be right for your dogs breed.

    Quick and effective

My puppy is about 15 weeks old and he had a stubborn skin infection at the top of his head. Did a scrape test, but they weren’t able to pinpoint what the issue was. Initially treated him for mange, but it didn’t respond to the medication. I started using the shampoo version of this for about two weeks, but I wasn’t seeing much improvement. I spoke to another vet and he recommended the mousse version. The photos are before and after a single application. Yeah… used it only once and the hair is starting to fill in. I’m going to continue using it to make sure I nip the issue in the bud, but I’m super impressed. We tried a million different medications, prescription diets and special supplements, and this over the counter mousse I got on Amazon did the trick. Who would’ve thunk?Apologies for the horrendous photos but it’s almost impossible to get a photo of him without it being blurry.

Medicated Fungal Fighting Dog Foam. Heard about this on a dog allergy FB group after trying EVERYTHING with many different vet office over the last 10 years. Nothing worked! Then once we moved to a different region, not only did my dogs have allergies but this disgusting slimy smelly fungal infections. Even my dog without the allergy problems started to get fungus. This works better than the oral medication from the vet. When used in addition to the shampoo, this works wonders. Nothing else was working for my dogs. It has completely gotten rid of both dogs hot spots on their entire legs in a matter of days as if they never had a problem. My dogs are happy again! I will definitely be buying more.
